Master in Cultural Studies (Anthropology Studies)

Introduction and aims

Advanced course aiming at developing anthropological analytical and research competences, taking into account its specificity and diversity. The course is based on a dynamic teaching method, relating the students to the ongoing research projects of the several professors, either in western and non-western countries.

The Master provides not only specialised seminars and team research experience but also the integration of students into Conference programs aiming at tackling Globalization and the new working organizations as challenges to Anthropology.

At the end of the course of study the graduate will be able to:

  • understand recent theoretical propositions and media and internet methodological possibilities for Anthropology.
  • Develop field-work skills and new relations between traditional anthropological field-work and new technologies.
  • comprehend the interaction between the political, economic, sociological and cultural dimensions in the new global framework.
  • develop knowledge of inter and transdisciplinarity in order to respond to the new challenges of global phenomena and scientific social role.
  • cultivate his/hers analytical capabilities in the social sciences and to develop  appreciation of different approaches to the study of the Humankind.
  • provide a range of current interpretations and responses of practical problems of society for a necessary applied anthropological response.
