Master in Culture, Literature and Hypermedia

Introduction

Advanced course offering seminars and workshops focused on the transformations that the digital paradigm operates both in Information and Knowledge, articulating the comprehension of theoretical models from Communication and Semiotics with the creative use of Multimedia and Hypermedia applications in the two areas of specialization offered: Education and Hypermedia and Informatic Text and Cyberliterature.

Goals

  • To reflect critically about methodologies used for the production of knowledge in human and social sciences;
  • To problematize the form by which new technologies transform contemporary society, its culture and literature;
  • To develop forms of analyzing information and of doing scientific research using networked, collaborative, multimedia and interactive platforms;
  • To plan, produce, develop and publish Hypermedia projects in the areas of Education and Literature.

 

Methodology

By means of an interdisciplinar approach, our students will be able to conceive and develop academic and creative works using the digital medium as its main dissemination platform, thus relating theory and critical reflection with an informed practise of hypermedia. Moreover, the students will integrate ongoing research projects financed by FCT in the specific fields of study of the MA.

Our students will acquire competences suitable for the following professional skills and roles:

  • Libraries with audiovisual and digital arquives as well as other types of Documentation and Information Centres
  • Production and development of educational software and other multimedia materials
  • Editorial and Book publishing industries (e-book, multimedia and web-based literature)
  • Socio-Cultural animation and Educational intervention
  • Profissional Formation and Education
