Master in Urban Public Policies

Introduction and aims

Advanced course aiming at developing analytical, research and programming and planning competences in the field of Territorial and Urban Public Policies. The course is based on a dynamic teaching method, relating the students to the ongoing territorial and urban projects.

The Master provides not only specialised seminars and team research experience but also the integration of students into research projects. This aims at tackling socio-spatial strategic planning in Portugal and its relation with global challenges.

At the end of the course of study the graduate will be able to:

  • Understand recent theoretical propositions concerning Territorial and Urban Policies
  • Developing skills in order to evaluate the needs as well as to identify, to classify, to chart and to manage resources   in the field of Territorial and Urban Public Policies.
  • Build capacity for using new scientific and practical tools in order to respond to the new challenges of interdisciplinary planning in local-global relation context.
