Application

Steps to follow:

1. Contact the tutor/supervisor of your interest;
2. After the tutor/supervisor’s acceptance, you must submit your enrolment as a post-doctoral student to University Fernando Pessoa’s Rector. The application must have a request form (please click here to download) and should contain the following documents:

• detailed CV;
• Official copies of certificates of all college or university courses attended previously in the Ph.D. (optional);
• Doctoral certificate (original or certified copy*);
• Research proposal;
• Tutor/Supervisor’s acceptance form (link);
• Recommendation letter(s) (optional);
• Photocopy of identity card (EU citizens) or passport and visa;
• 1 passport size colour photo (2x3 cm)

After being informed of the acceptance in the post-doctoral programme, the applicant must do the following steps:

• Portuguese citizens/citizens from an EU country/citizens from a country outside EU with Portuguese residency authorization:

• Enrol; and/or;
• Request an acceptance letter for grant purposes.

• Citizens from a country outside the EU with no Portuguese residency authorization:

• Request an acceptance letter for visa/grant purposes;
• Enrol.

Fees

• Registration**:

• valid for an academic year = 1000 euros***
  
• valid for an academic semester = 500 euros***
• valid for an academic trimester = 250 euro***

• Post-doctoral certificate = 75 euros
• Post-doctoral diploma = 150 euros

Please note:

• Only complete applications will be considered.
• There will be no refunds of payments, nor return of any documents.

*If applicant is not a Portuguese citizen, these documents must be recognized at the Portuguese consulate of the country where applicant got the degree.
** By paying the registration, the post-doctoral student has access to the University's facilities.
*** Adds the Lab Use fee--if applicable--, according to the annual budget requested by the advisor.
